Youth Religious Education (General Info)

Mission Statement:

St. Martha’s Religious Education Program is an eight year initiation into the truths of the Catholic Faith, the Sacraments, Christian living, Prayer, and the Liturgical Life of the Church. Each year is a building block in the overall understanding and living out of our Catholic Religion. St. Martha's Parish is firmly committed to teaching the Catholic Faith with loving obedience and fidelity to the teaching authority of the Church. Keeping this in mind, the Religious Education curriculum is not enough to fully form your child into a practicing and devout Catholic.  Family prayer time as well as regular reception of the Sacraments (Sunday Mass/Regular Confession) is crucial to the spiritual development of your child and your family.  The Family that Prays Together Stays Together. Parents should never underestimate their role as the primary teachers of their children in the Catholic Faith. St. Martha's Religious Education Program is designed to assist families in this process of Faith.

ALL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES BEGIN SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2021

Q & A : RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (2021/2022) AND COVID 19

Dear St. Martha's Parishioners,

As we continue to live, pray, and study as Catholics in the unprecedented Age of COVID 19, our standard habits as a Parish Community have changed. One of the greatest changes is the way in which we educate the youth of our parish through the Religious Education Program. Below are questions and answers for parents who would like to know how the 2021/2022 Religious Education Program will operate. Please do not hesitate to contact the Religious Education Office (434-4060 ext 6) or Fr. Green (401 434 4060 ext 4) directly if you still have questions. We want this to be an easy and stress-free process for all our parents and students.

Sincerely,

Mary-Beth Hoxie, Director of Religious Education

Q&A - RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE AGE OF COVID 19

1.) Are Classes for Religious Education resuming at St. Martha's? If so, are they in-person or homeschooling?

YES. Starting on Sunday, September 12, 2021 will be "in person". Mask during class will be required due to the close proximity of the Students & Teachers.

2.) I have concerns about safety and have "high risk" individuals at home. Does my child have to attend in-person?

NO. We cannot be more emphatic about this. If a family feels unsafe, we strongly encourage you to inform us here at St. Martha's. We will gladly work with you so that your child is not delayed in their Faith Formation or in making their Sacraments. Textbooks will be available to take home and Powerpoints for Grade 8 will be available from Fr. Green.

3.) My family was negatively affected by COVID 19 and cannot afford the Registration Fee. Can we still register?

YES. Please do not forgo registration because of financial difficulty. We will gladly accept registrations from any family regardless of their ability to pay the enrollment fee.

Registration forms are available in the front Hallway of Church and on the weekend starting 7/31 - 8/1. A Master Calendar and Registration forms will be posted to the website.

Bins will be on the table in the front church hall to drop off your registration forms. There is one for Grades 1-7 and one for Grade 8.
